Fabricon: A Legacy of Innovation Since 1978

From a Modest Beginning to a Legacy of Excellence

Foundation (1978-2005)

Fabricon was founded in 1978 by Mr. Sanjit Kr. Ghosh with a vision to manufacture mild steel switchgear panel enclosures, which was a bold venture for its time. Fabricon’s journey began with a 1000 sq feet factory situated in Motilal Gupta Road with a strength of just 10 employees and yet served as a foundation for what would soon become a pillar of success. Mr Sanjit Kr. Ghosh actively engaged in hands-on production himself, his personal touch playing a vital role in giving the company a robust foundation. His dedication and honest work enabled him to cater to well-known clientele of his time such as Andrew Yule, Biecco Lawrie, and Alstom. By 2005, the 1,000 sq. ft. factory steadily expanded into a 5,000 sq. ft. factory; however, it remained reliant on manual labour.

Transformation (2003-2008)

As Fabricon stood at the crossroads of change, Sudipto Ghosh took the reins, bringing a vision for modernization. His passion for efficiency and innovation led to the adoption of advanced CNC machinery, shifting the company from manual operations to automation. Under his leadership, Fabricon won the Best Manufacturing Practices award from the Bengal Chamber of Commerce in 2007 and 2008.

Expansion (2009-2015)

Fabricon diversified in 2009 by partnering with Escorts Limited to launch Escorts Fabricon Diesel Generator Sets. As operations grew, a second unit was established in Bakrahat, Kolkata, spanning 28,000 sq. ft. and incorporating Amada machines for automation. Priyanka Ghosh joined in 2015, bringing strategic expertise that helped Fabricon secure major retail clients like Samsung, Gionee, and LG. This period saw Fabricon transition from switchgear panel enclosures to retail fixtures.

Diversification (2016-Present)

Fabricon’s retail fixtures business expanded with prestigious clients like Titan, Nokia, Vivo, and Xiaomi. To meet growing demands, Fabricon introduced in-house powder coating, acrylic manufacturing, printing, and woodwork. In 2022, Mr. Pritam Pattanayak joined to strengthen the genset division, leading to expansion into North Bengal, Odisha, and the Northeast. A third manufacturing unit in Jamira, covering 1 lakh sq. ft., was established. By 2025, Fabricon ventured into modular kitchens and wardrobes, blending metal durability with wooden elegance, showcased at its Thakurpukur experience center. The journey continues as Fabricon strives for excellence and explores new frontiers.
